As higher education nerds, our team is fascinated by the stories of how college and university leaders got to where they are today. How did their upbringing affect their career path? What was undergrad like? What faculty or staff members ultimately made a difference in their lives? How did other experiences outside of higher education push them to advocate for students in their roles? In this blog series, we will explore all of the ways that higher ed leaders take their lived experiences, as well as professional backgrounds, and make an impact on this sector each and every day. Our goal with this series is to not only share the professional accomplishments and easy-to-apply insights of our interviewees, but to also illuminate the moments in their lives that propelled them into a career of shaping institutional strategies, serving students, and building a better higher education experience for future generations.
